While summers are usually „cucumber season” for job seekers, the „white-collar” job seekers stayed active this year after the quarantine was lifted.

The success of the traditional resumes is a thing of the past

On the employee side, excellence from oversupply in the market has become the most burning issue. According to a survey by DreamJo.bs job portal, 72% of active „white-collar” job seekers lost their previous job due to COVID-19, and 46% had not been an active job seeker before, meaning they were essentially inexperienced in writing effective CVs. However, there is a need on the part of employers to get trendy and compact presentations instead of classic CVs, where „I know this” is followed by „I am looking for this”. It is also intended to make it easier to choose from many similar suitable candidates by a virtual first impression; images, videos, hard and soft skills, quotes, strengths, and goals. A striking opening text from the candidate, a character-specific pictogram, an emotion, a well-done photo, and a funny story all belong in order to read the introduction in a matter of seconds – not land unread in the trash.

Mutual “courtship”

In connection with the „Lovely Jobs Award” – employer branding competition – it can be felt year by year that companies are communicating more and more boldly, as a good workplace can make them competitive for pickier but more suitable employees. “Trendy” is characterized not only by the behaviour of the youngest generation. The latest data from DreamJo.bs shows the recent changes in the average age of more trendy, smarter presentation use and demanding job seekers. The proportion of applicants at any junior level, mostly young and with up to 5 years of experience is undoubtedly high (for example, one-third of the total target group surveyed), so in the summer, the number of jobseekers with middle or dominant senior experience has increased so much that they currently make up two-thirds of the registered users of the portal.
